Ključ Design mini studios are designed as a combination of quality and sustainability. Their innovative approach focuses on state-of-the-art insulation and energy efficiency, compatible with the RE2020 standard.
Each unit is meticulously crafted – from the wooden frame sandwich-panel walls to the premium exterior and interior insulation, and weather-resistant exterior wall and roof claddings.
WHAT THE PROCESS OF CREATING YOUR WOODEN HOME LOOKS LIKE
1 – Defining the project
This is the first part of the process in which you yourself must first define exactly what you want, which dimensions of the object correspond to the existing exterior, what is the primary purpose of the object, what kind of atmosphere you want to achieve in the object...
2 – Study the feasibility
It is very important for you to know the limitations and possibilities regarding legal guidelines for additional structures. Check what type and size of unit you can place in your yard.
Please keep in mind that our studios are mobile and are subject to regulations concerning mobile structures. Our advice is to check the legal regulations with local authorities before placing an order, as a permit is usually required for setting up a mobile home, depending on the location and intended use of the unit.
Regulations vary from municipality to municipality, so it is crucial to check local ordinances before starting the project.
3 – First contact
Your project is now well defined; you know what you want and you have studied all the legal regulations of your municipality. Now it's time to contact us to make your project a reality!
Starting to build your wooden home
To schedule a preliminary meeting (via Zoom, video call, or regular phone call), you can contact us by email at design@kljucinterijeri.com or by calling 095 823 66 55.
We will arrange a meeting where it would be ideal for you to prepare your ideas and concepts related to dimensions, types of interior and exterior claddings, lighting positions and types, floor coverings, equipment... This way, we can use the 45 minutes of the meeting in the best possible way and gain a true insight into what you would like.
If you already have finished blueprints, photos, etc., please prepare those as well—it will be easier for us to visualize your requirements.
The first meeting is free, and we usually agree on all the key guidelines during it, so we can start creating your ideal wooden mini-unit that will delight your guests as soon as possible.

Foundations
Foundations are not required for our mobile mini-homes. The ground for setting up the unit must be flat and solid (compacted), but no concrete slab is needed. It can be a flat gravel area, earth, a wooden deck, etc.
They come to you with integrated steel supports (feet) at the bottom of the unit that 'carry' the entire structure and ensure ventilation of the base. This is extremely important for preventing the impact of moisture, pests, etc., on the unit itself.
Wall and roof construction
The construction and composition of the walls and roof are of utmost importance when making a decision to purchase a mobile wooden unit.
It is vital to know what measures have been taken regarding insulation, pest protection, structural strength, fire protection, as well as the long-term durability and energy efficiency of the unit itself. And finally, but certainly no less important—to also consider the ecological component and the reduction of the carbon footprint.

Construction
The structure of the building is made of KVH and laminated (BSH) beams, which, with their superior properties, ensure the strength and longevity of the building itself.
Wall Structure and Insulation
Ključ Design multi-purpose studios stand out with their innovative approach to insulation and energy efficiency. Each mini-gym is carefully designed using a wooden frame sandwich structure for the walls.
The walls consist of structural beams, two OSB panels combined with an inner 10 cm thick layer of high-quality insulation wool. On the interior side of the OSB panels, drywall (Knauf) or paneling (ship lap) is installed (depending on the customer's preference), and on the exterior side, natural wooden cladding made of larch or pre-finished siding in one of thirty different colour shades.

The wall panels are carefully assembled, forming a solid structure. They are then fixed, ensuring optimal strength while eliminating thermal bridges, which is extremely important for the energy efficiency of the building.
Joinery
All Ključ Design multi-purpose studios are equipped with a large aluminum/PVC sliding window that brings maximum light into the space, or with windows and doors (aluminum/PVC) of other dimensions depending on your wishes.
To meet thermal insulation standard requirements, the standard joinery is double-glazed and features 3 security points.

Compliance with the RE2020 standard
From January 1, 2023, all new buildings must comply with the RE2020 standard. That's why all our wooden homes are built in accordance with all applicable environmental and energy standards.

Exterior Cladding and Aesthetics
The exterior cladding is the final insulating and aesthetic layer and, like the interior cladding, it is suitable for various combinations of both materials and colours.
The most common cladding is a combination of larch wooden cladding and pre-finished siding (Prefalz), which you can choose within sixteen different colours (RAL chart).
Exterior cladding is an important part of every unit, as it helps conserve energy, prevents the negative impact of weather conditions, and also gives every unit that final polish.

Ključ Design mini studios can also be clad exclusively with larch wooden cladding, a wood that offers warm aesthetics and exceptional resistance.
Larch is a naturally rot-resistant wood, known for its durability, which makes it an ideal choice for exterior use. It brings a touch of authenticity and is resistant to harsh weather conditions.
Our studios can also be clad with Prefalz siding (an exceptionally high-quality aluminum cladding). This material offers the advantage of being maintenance-free, non-combustible (fire class A1), environmentally friendly (100% recyclable), and comes with a 40-year warranty.
It is available in the colours already shown, and you can choose between a smooth or stucco surface.

Delivery
Delivery of the finished multi-purpose units (fully equipped) is carried out by specialized transport and transferred to your location by crane.
Therefore, it is important that you ensure a sufficiently wide path to the installation site (or at least to the closest possible location) to allow access for the truck with the 'lowboy' trailer (flatbed trailer with low loading surface). When the unit is brought to the placement area, the entire structure is transferred by crane onto the prepared base, positioned, and lowered into its final spot.
Foundations are not required for setting up the unit, as the unit is delivered with integrated steel supports (feet), meaning the ground only needs to be flat and compacted (gravel, earth, etc.).
